Hungry House, the next major competitor in ordering delicious take-away online is creeping up slowly to over throw Just-Eat, but the company still has a long way to go to make it as big as Just-Eat. The company started in 2006 with the same idea as Just-Eat to meet the public’s need for ordering take-away online.

The website http://www.hungryhouse.co.uk is pretty dull with the plain colour scheme which does not exactly jump out of the users monitor to grab their attention. Their sole intention is to provide restaurants to the customers in their area code which is what they are doing and have done. They are following in the same foot-steps of enabling users to register on their website for putting their order through and receiving the monthly newsletters. Looking at the website, their main focus is also maintaining positive customer experience which is why they have integrated a customer review box on their front page to attract new users through the Hungry House experience. This company will not be put off by the web designers’ bad taste in colours but relies on positive feedbacks.

To put Hungry House to the test, I put in my post code NW10 and the results were pretty bland. There were too many choices of pizza places which none of them were in the area of NW10 but instead NW9 came up. It either had to choose Curry or Pizza, no Chinese restaurants came up. Guess I have to refer to Just-Eat.

However, Just-Eat.co.uk is different; whilst putting in the post code of NW10 – I was pretty amazed with the results, a different variety of restaurants offering different types of food. It helps if more restaurants are supporting Just-Eat. Hungry House got a long way to go yet.

Hungry House did have their 15 minutes of fame when appearing on national television; Dragon's Den. Dragon's Den is a television programme that gives hopes to entrepreneurs to pitch their business ideas in order to secure finance investments from 5 business experts known as the 'Dragons'.

Below are two Youtube videos (Part 1 & 2) showing suspenseful moments of the Dragon's Den episode with Hungry House trying to snap up the Dragon's investments.

The hopeful entrepreneurs securing that financial investment with a hand-shake at the end of the negotiation it was discovered that James Caan backed out of the invest four months after the deal.
